Bulgarian Tourism Minister Ellen Dimitrov said on Thursday that Turkey is his country’s first partner in the tourism sector.
This came in a speech he delivered during his participation in the “International Business and Investment Forum” organized by the “InvestBulgaria” agency in Istanbul.
Dimitrov stressed the importance of holding the International Business and Investment Forum in Istanbul, adding that it is “a great opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Turkish and Bulgarian peoples, including in the tourism sector, which is one of the most important economic sectors in Bulgaria.”
He stated that the fourth meeting of the Bulgarian-Turkish Joint Tourism Committee will be held in Istanbul in two weeks.
He continued, “Turkey ranks third in the number of tourists coming to Bulgaria in recent years, and it is possible to develop cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries in the coming years.”
Dimitrov announced that a tourist extension to Bulgaria will be opened in Turkey, starting from the beginning of next February.
